This event has been organized jointly with the UN Economic Commission for Europe’s Group of Experts meetings – the 19th Session of the Group of Experts on Coal Mine Methane and Just Transition, and the 11th Session of the Group of Experts on Gas.
FSWP contribution
The FSWP attended the Forum and provides feedback on the discussions:
– A dynamic has been initiated with a number of international partners on the creation of a Global Waste & Resource Forum to address the subject of waste in a holistic way, rather than in a disconnected way in the various forums on other topics (climate, methane, plastics, etc...).
– Experiences of several countries were shared, and we encourage you to explore on the proceedings through the Presentations and Recordings, in particular :
- the session on biogas production in Germany and their mitigation strategy
- the Indore, India case study
- the national methane mitigation approach in the waste sector in Croatia
- the first public policy aiming to ban organic waste disposal in landfills in Indonesia
